what started out as a hunt for one song turned into a flashback for me to 1979-1980. This was the tunes of a mixtape I made back in the day and I can't believe I remember the tracks I had on the cassette.

I
didn't expect this podcast to be this long. It's only 13 tracks but I
think it's the length of some of the songs(it's all good). Well, this
week I begin school and I'm looking forward to this class. This podcast
will be my last for a minute because I really wish to concentrate on my
studies. Last week podcast tunes were from iodapromonet...this
podcast will showcase music from some of my favorite artists that when
I began listening to smooth jazz these artists(most are jazz and some
in this line up you would consider pop, rock) not help my knowledge of
music but the musicians and sometimes when I was having a rough day
kickin' back and listening to these tracks gave me that "second wind"
get going again.
Big congrats goes out to Fave and the crew over at Soulbounce for getting to the finals to be chosen for the "best music podcast" and "best music blog" for this years Black Weblog Awards. You can still vote, deadline is August 31st so don't delay.
Big shout out to new listener and musician Tom Cawley and his trio group Curios out of London(welcome dude). He sent me a track to showcase and I am more than happy to do this. The track "Truce" is nice piano/bass/drum composition that is cool to chill out on a beautiful Autumn day or any day of your choosing(as you can see I can not wait till Fall comes).
A great jazz podcast "must have" is from our own tgrundy's "Smooth Jazz - Najee, Earl Klugh & George Howard…"
Many people who have followed me from when I first hit the scene on Vox I have been a lover of technology and how I always talked about Leo Laporte and his podcast. I have to be honest for a while I kind of fell off the wagon when it came to covering tech and as me and Steve were chatting that TWiT to us had become kinda "stale" but the episodes #157/#156/#154/#153 has made me get hooked on ThisWeek(in)Tech. With the crew of Dvorak, Harris, Norton, Rose and with guest like Don Reisinger, Robert Heron has for me made me listen again.
I can not say enough about this young lady when it comes to her podcast. I wrote a post on Nikki and all I can say about her Soulrific podcast is WOW! Check out my post and check out her podcast...you will not be disappointed.
Hope these tracks truly relax you make you take some "me" time.
Enjoy

These podcasts I find myself coming back time and time again, laid back, relaxing podcast. I guess this past week has been long one and I was hoping to publish this podcast last week but time got away from me. This podcast was a little long for me as well (close to 90 minutes). I'm going to get back to having just an hour a little over.>>>[more]

here it is close to 3am and I'm recording ANOTHER podcast(this is what I get for falling asleep at 8pm...but it's all good). I guess this is a blessing because I will be very busy starting this upcoming Monday until December because of working my jobs and school so it's best I try and get as many podcasts under my belt. I love relaxing music because it makes me reflect, count my blessings, and appreciate that God has giving me the gift and drive to put these podcasts together.
Kick back and enjoy this 3rd installment of MyLoveForMusic:Twilight Volume 3.

I
see I'm finding myself floating toward laid back tunes more and more.
Well that's a lie, I have always enjoyed laid back tunes. I smooth
jazz, downtempo cuts takes me back to when I first moved back over here
in Missouri, where I finally could be myself, rediscover me and what I
loved about me.
This is my second set of collections of smooth
jazz, laid back vocals, new age tunes that whenever I hear them I just
want to just sit back, reflect and just me. I hope you enjoy the
compositions I have found. Some from my library and others that are new
to me as well.

What's
going on people? Seems like I have been away for about 2 months but
it's only been 2 weeks. I had my last class for the spring and now it's
time for me to just relax (just for a minute at least). It's amazing
how sometimes you lose your way in reference to who you are, and why do
one begin projects in the first place.
This past week I have begun listening to my past podcast shows to see how I have improved, what can I do better, what to change, what to leave alone and I have come to the conclusion that the reason why I began this music internet show was to share my different taste in music. It's funny how growing up I knew sometime down the road I would be able to share the music I enjoyed in the order I wanted, I didn't know how this was going to happen but I knew this is what I wanted to do. My very first podcast really reflected that but by the time I recorded "MyLoveForMusic: 19 April episode" I think I allowed myself to slip on that recording but I think when I recorded "MyLoveForMusicExtra:Twilight" I redeemed myself.
This episode is just me "relaxing" and getting my feel again in this wonderful world of podcasting. I have to give a big shout out to Fave, Macedonia, Doug Fresh for making me realize that the best way to put out great shows is to sometimes review your work, don't take yourself too serious, and most important, always, ALWAYS be true to yourself.

Man
I haven't brought a ThriftStoreGems to the masses in a minute but this
one is kind of special for me. While I was converting these it brought
me back to the time when I worked at a store called The Nature Company
back in the late 80s. What was so cool about this store was that this
was a store that was like a dream come true for a grown up. The artists
I will be showcasing will be acoustic guitarist Govi, new age/electronic group Tangerine Dream, and folk/pop artist James Taylor.
These 3 cassettes LPs I converted makes me think of a time when began the road of truly seeing myself as my Creator sees me. I met and worked with cool people, worked in a place where being surrounded by nice music, astronomy, nature, learning about rocks and minerals...it was like heaven. I have to admit I screwed up the job because I wore my emotions on my sleeves when it came to my manager/boss and in the end it was my undoing. But the time I was there I learned that it was truly cool to like science and nature and working in that type of environment I met people that conversation was warm, informing, challenging, and made you seek to do better with your life.
Cassette LP that will be showcases will be...
James Taylor-That's Why I'm Here
Govi-Heart Of a Gypsy
Tangerine Dream-Canyon Dreams
Find you a cool place to chill for the evening, light some candles, kick back, relax and enjoy.
